SIAMESE CAT SOCIETY OF SCOTLAND

June 30th 2007

John S Harrison

My thanks to Show Managers Bruce, Gillian and Elaine for inviting me to judge at this show; it is many years since I last judged here having in recent years been an exhibitor. The entry was good, the organisation superb and the atmosphere warm and friendly …. what more can one ask for? Mark and I travelled up in the morning and were back home in Wales by mid evening - my thanks as always to Mark.

Oriental Female Grand
1 GCC n/a Picton's CH MYAA MIMA 43n 12-12-2005
This lady was just a bit stroppy and really didn't do anything to endear herself! Head overall rather short and lacking balance. Ears of excellent size, shape and set with very good width between. Good profile. Firm chin, bite noticeably undershot. Bright green eyes of correct set, though rather full. Body of very good type and length. Tail rather short and lacking sufficient taper with terminal defect. Coat very short and close lying, excellent colour, very well shaded though showing fairly heavy vestigial markings. Overall a nice queen, but with too many faults for this high award.

Oriental Shaded Adult
BoB not awarded
Considered for BoB : Picton's CH MYAA MIMA 43n

Wrong class : Samphier's EIREACHDAIL LOVEISINTHEAIR 43g 22-04-2006
This magnificent female has quite excellent type and is one of the best Orientals I have had the pleasure of judging for many years … she is truly exquisite! Ears very large and well set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Excellent lines to wedge. Vivid green eyes of excellent shape and set. Excellent long slender body of true Oriental type - a very elegant lady indeed. Very short close lying coat of excellent texture. Excellent mix of blue and cream BUT unfortunately I could see no evidence of any Shading and had to conclude that she is not infact a Shaded but rather an Oriental Spotted Tabby, albeit with a very feint and indistinct pattern. I was bitterly disappointed that I had to mark this superb queen accordingly for she is an Oriental of great quality, but regrettably not a Shaded. A most elegant lady shown in superb condition with the most delightful temperament. Without doubt she was the finest Oriental in the show.

Oriental Grand Premier Male
GCC - Bruno's PR EIREACHDAIL PLUM MACDUFF 37 25-12-2003
An excellent exhibit of great quality. A head of correct balance and overall excellence. Ears of excellent size shape and set. Excellent muzzle with very good lines to wedge. Excellent profile overall with just a slight bump on the nose. Green eyes of excellent shape and set. Excellent length of body (albeit just a tad chubby) with long limbs and neat paws. Tail of good length and taper. Coat very short and close lying, dense black and sound to the roots. An excellent exhibit with a truly delightful nature. Very well presented and well worthy of the award.

2 Res GPC n/a Buchan's PR KEELOKAN HAGAN DAZ 35 24-06-2005
Unfortunately this laddie was not presented to best advantage and had a very grubby nose and face. Ears of fair shape and size, well set. Fairly good profile, firm chin, very untidy bite. Muzzle a little weak and lacking substance under the cheek bones spoiling the lines to the wedge. Eyes of good shape and set. Body of good length. Long slim elegant legs. Tail very short and lacking sufficient taper. Coat rather long and lacking sparkle.

Oriental Red Neuter
1 PC & BoB Allan's STATIONARY AUTUMNFLAME 37d 13-08-2004
Head of overall pleasing type and very good length. Ears of good size and shape, well set. Good top of head and profile. Good firm chin and correct bite. Eyes good shape and set, fairly good green in colour. Long body of elegant type. Long slender legs, very neat paws. Tail just a little short for balance. Coat of very good texture, close lying, but rather long. Very good rich red colour, solid dorsal area but showing heavy ghosting to sides. Excellent condition and temperament. Well deserving of PC

2 Cox' KHERAF RED HOTSHOT 37d 26-05-2006 A large cat of good overall type. Well balanced head. Ears of good size and shape, set well. Good top of head and profile. Eyes of correct setting, but very full and of a clear mustard colour with little indication of green. Long well built body with balanced legs and tail. Coat of good length and texture. Very good colour but showing an unacceptable degree of markings for a Red SELF - this lad really has the most clearly defined pattern I've seen in a red either self or tabby, with clear spots to sides and very clear, distinct and defined broken spine lines - yep a very attractive lad! Excellent temperament.

Seal Point Siamese Kitten Female
1 BoB n/a Vannini's LACASA STRACCIATELLA 24 11-11-2006
Large ears of very good shape and set with good width between. Skull rather flat spoiling an otherwise good profile. Pleasing muzzle and very good lines to wedge. Good firm chin and correct bite. Clear deep blue eyes of good shape and fair set but rather small for balance. Head held on very elegant neck. Long elegant body of very pleasing type. Long slender legs. Tail requiring length and rather thick. Coat of fairly good length and excellent texture. Excellent dense seal points of almost matching colour. Body colour very cold, dark and heavily shaded. Excellent condition and temperament.

2 Brown's THISTLEWAY MISPURSUASION 24 21-10-2006
Ears of good size and shape but held rather low. Good top of head. Very good profile. Eyes of good set but very full, fairly good blue in colour. Muzzle showing pinch detracting from an otherwise pleasing wedge. Very good body type with slender legs and very neat paws. Tail short, thick and lacking sufficient taper. Coat of good texture, close lying but rather too long. Points rather uneven in colour with mask rather brindled and showing spectacles. Front feet a dark chocolate/seal colour and not matching the back feet and tail. Excellent pale warm body colour. Excellent condition and temperament.

3 Wyne's ADVIAM I WISH 24 10-10-2006 Ears of fairly good size and shape, set correctly but a tendency to hold high. Fair top of head, good overall profile. Excellent chinline and correct bite. Muzzle pinched, poor lines to wedge. Eyes very full and rather pale blue lacking intensity. Body of medium type. Coat of good texture but very long. Good points colour, fair body colour. Very good condition and lovely nature.

Tortie Point Siamese Kitten, Female
1 & BoB Fraser's TREEDANCER NA TOTH 32b4 23-10-2006
Ears of good size and shape, fairly well set but needing rather more flare. Good top of head, very good even profile. Eyes of correct set, good blue, just a little too full. Body of very good length and balance. Very elegant legs and neat paws. Tail could do with a little more length and taper for perfection. Coat of very good length and texture. Lovely warm body colour showing just a little soft shading. Points very good colour, matching well. Tail just a little solid needing a little more cream. Excellent condition and temperament.
