TABBY POINT SIAMESE & PROGRESSIVE BREEDERS CAT CLUB
September 29 th 2007
John S Harrison
It is many years since I last judged for this Club and so it was a
pleasure to return once again, my thanks to Harry and Liz and the committee for
inviting me. The hall was a little cramped but natural lighting and easy access
to clear daylight at the windows was much appreciated. I am most grateful to
Cathy Baxter for stewarding for me, Cathy handled the cats well and was good
company.

A very stylish exhibit. Ears of very
good size and shape, correctly set. Top of head overall too flat and showing
defined skull depression. Good muzzle shape with very good lines to wedge.
Correct bite with good chin line. Good length body of pleasing Oriental type
with very dainty legs and paws. Tail of good length and taper. Coat very short
and close lying, very good texture. Unfortunately the coat is very unsound with
a clearly brindled undercoat to the sides, and the hairs around the neck,
throat and ears having white roots extending half way up the hairs. Excellent
condition and temperament.

A very stylish and
attractive lady of overall excellence. Excellent balanced head. Ears of very
good size and shape, and excellent set. Excellent top of head. Excellent
profile. Correct bite, good firm chin. Very good muzzle shape, excellent lines
to wedge. Excellent eye shape, size and set; colour rather mustard but in clear
daylight at the window it was decidedly green. Very dainty elegant body of
correct Oriental type. Coat of very good length and excellent texture, one did
not have to look at this lady's tail to confirm she is an OLH. Coat showing
excellent clear shading on a very bright and clear silver ground with no
indication of tarnishing. A delightful exhibit shown in superb condition, and
what a friendly lady! Well deserving the CC and BoB.

MAI LING 62 21 09/12/06
Head of overall good type. Ears of very good size
and set. Good top of head. Good profile. Eyes of good size and set but rather
full and rather too orange in colour. Body of good length but rather heavy in
build, legs and paws rather heavy. Tail needing more taper. Coat very dense and
of good texture, but lacking the required length - at first glance she appeared
to be an OSH with a rather open coat. Very good colour and sound to roots.

I was very disappointed that I could
not place this very stylish kitten of overall excellent type. Large ears of
very good shape and excellent set. Very good top of head. Excellent even
profile, correct bite and strong chin. Bright blue eyes of good depth, very
well set and excellent shape. Long firm body of excellent type. Long slender
legs, very neat paws. Tail of good length and taper. Short close lying coat of
pleasing texture. Unfortunately he is not red but rather a Cream as was clearly
evidenced in his fully coloured ears. A great pity I was unable to place him. A
very attractive kitten shown in excellent condition, very good natured lad.

At 14 weeks of
age this little chap was very bold and seemed to enjoy the attention! Large
ears of very good shape, very well set with excellent top of head. Very good
profile overall showing a slight 'kitten dip' behind the brow. Correct bite and
good chin line. Eyes of good size and shape, just a little too horizontal in
set, excellent colour. Body of good length and type. Tail rather short and
thick needing more taper. Excellent coat length and texture. Very good colour
to ears showing defined thumbprints, good tracings showing on immature mask,
legs and tail showing feint markings. A very promising and nice natured little
lad well deserving of the BoB.

Ridgeway's HARTZIE STARLIGHT EXPRESS 32/1 04/05/07

but very full, a clear deep blue colour, tendency to squint. Muzzle showing
pinch. Good profile overall, correct bite, good chin line. Body of fair length
and type. Tail good length and taper. Coat of good length and texture. Ears
showing defined thumb prints, other markings rather feint. Tail rings joined on
top and brindled and incomplete on underside. Coat very heavily marked. Shown
in very good condition, excellent friendly natured little soul.

Ears of good size and shape, fairly well set but carried upright.
Very good even profile. Good bite. Firm chin. Eyes rather small, narrow and
very pale in colour. Fair muzzle and lines to wedge. Body of good length,
balanced legs, neat feet. Tail short and lacking sufficient taper. Coat of good
length but very open. Fair points colour. Unfortunately this lass had a grubby
muzzle and paws and would have benefited from some show preparation.
Oriental Blue Kitten

SINGINGTHEBLUES 37a 12/04/07
Balanced head of good overall type. Ears of
very good size and shape, good top of head. Fair profile overall but spoiled by
a very prominent bump on the nose. Green eyes of excellent shape and set. Good
lines to wedge. Body of good type. Good tail length. Coat of excellent length
and texture. Very dark blue in colour, sound to roots, but presently showing
very heavy ghost markings to head and tail. Excellent condition and
temperament.

What a grand old chap,
he really did seem to be enjoying his day out. Ears of good shape, well set but
rather small for balance. Eyes of good shape, correct set, excellent green
colour. Good profile. Correct bite, though teeth just a little uneven BUT how
many Orientals at 8 years old have a full set of pearly white teeth and healthy
pink gums? Excellent length body just a little overweight. Legs heavy. Coat of
good length and texture and of excellent apricot colour, sound to the roots,
very even and showing no markings. A delightful chap with a superb temperament,
he must be a delight to live with!

A kitten
of overall excellent type, and what a very attractive little chap! Head of very
good shape and balance. Large ears of very good shape and set with very good
width between. Good even profile. Muzzle showing slight pinch. Correct bite and
good chin. Eyes of very good size, shape and set and excellent colour.
Excellent length body, firm and slim. Legs of good length but he needs to grow
into his feet! Tail lacking sufficient length and taper. Sleek close lying coat
of very good length and excellent texture, though coat on tail was rather
fluffy. Very well marked overall with more than 1/3 white; fairly good
demarcation between colour and white. Good red colour showing good spotted
pattern. Excellent condition and temperament.

Another very attractive kitten, sister to
the above, of very similar type, just lacking a little in confidence. Well
balanced head of very good overall type. Ears of very good size, shape and set
with excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Good chin line. Muzzle showing
distinct pinch. Eyes of excellent size and set but rather full, very good green
colour. Long slender body of excellent type. Long slender legs with very neat
paws. Tail of good length but lacking sufficient taper. Coat a little long,
excellent texture and close lying. A good degree of white. Black patches dense
and sound to the roots, red patches excellent colour and sound. Fair
demarcation, but some scattered white hairs in margins. A rather timid little
soul, but what a delightful lass. Excellent condition and temperament.
No Merit : May's FIROUSI FIREFROST 48d 23/08/06
A well grown
cat of overall pleasing type but lacking the required minimum of 1/3 white.
Head of overall good type and balance. Ears of fairly good size and shape, well
set. Good even profile, chin rather shallow. Muzzle showing pinch. Eyes of good
shape and set, fairly good green colour. Body of good length but rather well
fed and lacking elegance. Long balanced legs. Tail of fair length but lacking
sufficient taper. Close lying coat of very good length and texture. Very good
rich red markings showing clean and distinct demarcation with white. This cat
conformed well with the SoP in all other respects but unfortunately does not
satisfy the required minimum of 1/3 white and this was the only reason for not
awarding the Merit. This slightly chubby lad had a delightful temperament.
No Merit : Ralph's FIROUSI FU-MANCHU 48 40 01/01/07
A cat of
overall pleasing type but unfortunately his haws were unacceptably visible.
Ears of fair shape and size, held rather low. Skull rather flat resulting in an
angular profile. Muzzle rather square spoiling lines to wedge. Correct bite,
chin lacking depth. Eyes of very good shape and set, good clear blue, but
unfortunately the haws were very raised and covering a large part of the eyes
which is a withholding fault. Body of very good length and fine Oriental type.
Long well balanced legs with very neat feet. Tail of fair length but lacking
sufficient taper. Coat of fair , fairly close lying, but rather long. Bare
patches around an obviously well chewed neck clearly do not enhance his
chances. A well marked chap with a good degree of white with fairly clear
margins. Good seal points colour. Excellent temperament.

A very
attractive little chap but showing very little evidence of white. Head of
overall pleasing type though just a little short for balance
but he's
plenty of time to grow! Ears of very good size, shape and set. Excellent top of
head. Excellent profile. Correct bite and good chin line. Excellent lines to
wedge. Eyes of very good shape, set a little horizontal, very good blue colour.
Body of very good length and slender Oriental type, good length legs, tail of
fair length but lacking sufficient taper. Coat of fairly good length and
texture though just a little open. Points colour very hot for a cream and
showing clear indication of being Apricot. Unfortunately it is often difficult
to see colour on the legs of red series pointed kittens of this age, let alone
seeing white!! Even with the advantage of perfect natural daylight it was nigh
impossible to see any difference in colour and the only visible white was a
small flash on the forehead. There is an obvious indication of cream/apricot
colouring on one front and one rear foot, and all four legs appeared to have a
cream flush and I therefore had to assume in the absence of any indication to
the contrary that he has, in all likelihood, insufficient white markings. A
delightful youngster showing great promise in all other respect. This sweet
natured lad thoroughly enjoyed the attention, but really was a judges
nightmare! I hope that as his colour develops I am proved to be wrong and he
does in fact have adequate white markings; but I had to assess what I could see
on the day.

A very attractive cat of overall very pleasing type but
unfortunately he does not satisfy the minimum requirement of 1/3 white. Strong
well balanced head . Ears large and well set with good width between. Skull a
little flat giving an angular profile. Correct bite, Strong chin. Good length
wedge with straight lines. Eyes of very good shape and set, excellent blue
colour. Body of excellent length and type with long well balanced legs, tail of
good length and taper. Obviously this lad really enjoys his food!! Coat short,
close lying and of excellent texture. Insufficient white, unfortunately a white
tummy and feet did not amount to the required minimum. A lovely chap with an
excellent temperament and a lot going for him but the SoP is specific about the
amount of white.
