CHESHIRE AREA CAT CLUB
11th November 2000
John S Harrison
My thanks to Margaret and Committee for inviting me to judge at the Cheshire Area - one of those delightful shows where I can have breakfast at home and be back in time for tea!! I was delighted to have Barbara Fellows stewarding for me once again.
Oriental Grand Premier Male
1 : Cogan'sPR WESTGARTH MITCHIGAN, 37a
A cat of overall pleasing type.
Fair wedge spoiled by muzzle pinch. Ears of correct shape and set though held a little flat. Eyes of excellent shape and set,
of a poor greenish tone. Good profile, though skull a little flat, very good bite. Excellent body type and length with well
balanced legs and tail. Coat a little long, though close lying. Fair coat colour, a little unsound and showing distinct tail
rings. Not quite up to Grand standard.
2 : Brynes' PR WESTGARTH BLUEBERRY ICE, 37a
Ears of fair set. Skull
very flat giving angular profile. Fair lines to wedge. Muzzle pinched. Eyes very full and showing raised haws, colour more
yellow than green. Excellent body type, though needing a little more body weight, with a good length tail. Paws rather large.
Coat of fair length but of woolly texture. Very dark in colour but appeared to be sound to the roots.
Oriental Grand Premier Female
Gr Pr : Stafford's GR CH & GR PR HEYBURY
OPRAWINFRY, 37
A pleasing female of very good oriental type. Good head type. Excellent ear shape, well set. Skull
rather flat and uneven. Excellent lines to wedge overall, showing just a slight muzzle pinch. Excellent green eyes of superb
shape and set. Elegant body of correct Oriental type - carrying just a little too much weight. Tail a little short and thick at
the tip. Excellent coat length and texture, colour is dense black, glossy and totally sound to the roots. Excellent temperament
and condition.
Norwegian Forest Cat, Adult Female
1 CC N/A : Swift's ELFENTANZ BERIT, 67.20.
Cat of good size and build.
Ears set too wide and held rather low. Eyes of good shape and set, but head too broad across eye line. Fair profile. Body of
very good type carried on tall legs. Coat of very good length and texture. Unfortunately I did not feel that this females head
was of CC standard.
Norwegian Forest Cat, Neuter Male
BoB : Swift's PR KURRAJONG JONAH, 67.15.
A large well built chap. Head
a trifle wide but still looking a NFC. Skull rather flat with angulation showing in profile. Excellent coat.
Asian Smoke/Burmilla Adult Male
Considered for BoB : Ray's CH MAGNACATA LORIEN CIEL, 72.42a
A very
grumpy fellow who didn't seem very impressed with me. Of good overall type. Coat good overall but needs more clarity to silver
ground.
Asian Smoke/Burmilla Adult Female
1 & CC : Kemp's NATZKATZ ASIAN PRINCESS,
72.42q
A cat of very good overall type. Ears a little high in set. Eyes rather full. Very good muzzle shape. Fair profile
but nose a little long. Excellent body type. Coat of good texture but a shade long, excellent smoke undercoat. She did seem
rather nervous and I think would be quite impressive if she was relaxed. A very nice young queen well deserving the CC.
Asian Tabby Adult Male
1 & CC : Davidson's KARAKORAM MAGICS
LEGACY. 72 45bq
What a time waster this cat proved to be! His whole act being "Look at me, I'm here". Excellent head
type. Ears of very good shape and set with superb top of head. Excellent profile. Excellent eye shape and set, excellent green
colour and the most wicked of expressions! Coat just a trifle long for perfection, but of excellent texture. Excellent clarity
of ticking, with roots of the correct colour - which for an Asian is no mean feat. This cat at 11 months of age is a very large
specimen, and whilst his body type is perfectly OK today I do fear that with age he may become coarse. A magnificent cat with a
mega temperament certainly well deserving of the CC.
Asian Tabby Adult Female
BoB : Kemp's GRATHORS NATALIE, 72 45q
Head
of very good type. Ears large and well set. Excellent muzzle. Excellent eye shape and set. Excellent body type, well balanced
legs and tail. Excellent coat texture. Excellent ticking which had excellent crisp definition. Colour lacking the richness I
would expect in this colour. A very attractive mature exhibit, certainly well deserving of BoB.
1 & CC : Bayley's NEMOREZ SPELL BINDER, 72
45s
A young female of considerable quality but lacking a little in confidence. Very good head type overall. Ears of very
good shape, seemed to be correctly set, but were carried just a little upright. Very good wedge and muzzle. Excellent profile.
Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent clarity of ticking. Excellent colouring. A most promising
female, well deserving of CC.
2 : Lloyd's CH PATRON TOSNU NUA, 72 45s
Fair type overall. Ears fair
shape and set. Fair profile, but nose far too long. Fair body type. Coat good length and texture. Fair ticking needing a little
more clarity of definition. Excellent leg and tail markings.
Asian Self / Tortie Adult Female
1, CC & BoB N/A : O'Rourke's COOMAKISTA NIGHTLIGHTNING, 72e
Head of fair type only.
Ears set too high and lacking width between. Top of head far too flat. Poor profile. Muzzle of poor shape. Body fair type. Coat
fair length and rather woolly texture.
Havana, Adult Female
1, CC & BoB N/A : Brown's TRELGANDOLF NUTCRACKER
A cat of fair type
only. Ears fair size and set. Head rather short overall. Muzzle showing pinch. Profile uneven. Eyes fair shape and set but of
very pale yellow colour. Coat colour very unsound and showing distinct Classic Tabby ghost markings.
Foreign White Neuter
1 PC & BoB : Bauerfeind's SHIMILEETA
OLIVERTWIST
Ears of good size shape and set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. I was delighted with the
wonderful top of head of this chap, quite a rarity in this variety where flat skulls and angular profiles are the norm - even
though they are incorrect. Excellent eye shape, size and setting; colour of the most excellent bright blue. Body of very good
type, excellent length to body with well-balanced legs and tail. Excellent close lying short coat of excellent texture. A most
delightful exhibit and well deserving of PC & BoB. Congratulations to Owner/Breeder.
Oriental Black Adult Male
A most unimpressive class, neither exhibit in my opinion being of CC Certificate standard, BoB was therefore not awarded - rather surprising as two titled cats were considered.
Considered for BoB : Lumley's CH STOXHILL BLACK MAGICMAN
A cat of mediocre type only.
Fair head type. Ears of good shape and set. Good eye shape & set. Fair body type. Coat of rusty black colour, sound but of
poor texture and open. Poor condition. Certainly not up to cc standard.
Considered for BoB : North's CH MISHKANA DOUBLEOSEVEN
Fair head and body type. Ears
good set. Profile uneven with depression. Eyes fair shape but showing intermittent squint. Coat good length and texture.
Oriental Shaded Adult Female
1 CC & BoB : Stafford's CH HEYBURY
TITIANRED,43ds
Head of very good overall type. Ears of correct shape and set. Very good profile. Good muzzle with
even lines to wedge. Eyes of good size and set, but a little full. Eye colour a poor orange with a hint of green. Excellent
body length and type. Very dainty limbs. Tail of good length and taper. Excellent texture short close lying coat. Excellent red
shading of on a very deep silver ground. A pleasing exhibit in all respects, other than her eye colour. However I felt her
attributes outweighed her poor eye colour.
Oriental Shaded Kitten
1, BoB N/A : Parkinson's SMAUG WIZARD WINDLOW 43ns
Ears of excellent
size shape and set. Excellent profile. Green eyes of excellent shape and set. Excellent body type. Excellent fine limbs and
long whipped tail. Coat close lying coat, short and very good texture. Excellent shading. A stunning kitten, but unfortunately
he has the weakest chin I have seen for many years; it was so weak that I felt the BoB was unjustified, and I did contemplate
withholding the first prize. Such a pity in a kitten which excels in every other way.
