My thanks to Mark, Julian and Committee for inviting me once again to judge at this well organised show. I’d like to thank Simon Twigge for stewarding for me, for handling the cats so well and for taking so much interest and care in our exhibits. I hope that you will do for me again Simon.

RAGDOLL

COLOURPOINT/MITTED ADULT, MALE

1st & IC

Fitzpatrick’s ERMERISLE BEAUJOLAIS (66) 18/05/99
Ears of very good size and shape, very well carried although set just a fraction low at the moment. Muzzle and cheeks developing well. Profile just needs a little more definition. Eyes of very good shape and set, good clear colour. Excellent body type. Excellent clear coat of very good length and texture. Excellent points colour and markings. A most attractive youngster lacking only in maturity. I hesitated over the IC but decided to give the benefit of the doubt - I hope I meet up with him when he’s grown up a little! He seems to be a very promising youngster indeed.

Davies’ SONNYWOOD RENORAINES (66) 23/03/99
Head of overall good type. Good muzzle and cheeks. Ears good size and set. Eyes rather full and pale in colour. Good body type, just lacking a little in bone. Coat of fair length and texture, rather heavily shaded. Points colour rather brindled.

1st, IC & BOB	Long’s SONNYWOOD SHERRY TRIFLE (66) 20/03/99 A lovely young female! Ears of excellent size and shape, very well set and carried to perfection. Excellent profile with superb top of head. Eyes of very good shape and set. Lovely body type. Coat of excellent length and texture. Excellent points colour.
2nd	Eveniss’ CHARISMAGIC BRAVE HEART (66a) 05/05/99 Ears of good shape and set, just a little small. Profile rather straight. Good muzzle. Excellent cheek definition. Excellent eye size, shape and set. Coat of good texture though a little short. Points colour rather uneven.
3rd	Webb’s ADENTLO BLUESATIN (66a) 05/03/98 Rather small and fine boned. Ears very good shape and set. Fair profile. Coat of good clear colour but a little short. Points colour showing heavy tabby ghost markings.

Ashworth’s CHESAWOOD LUCKY LUCY (66) 17/05/98
Of overall good type but lacking in size. Ears of good shape and set. Good profile, though would like a better top of head. Muzzle needing a little more definition. Fairly well developed cheeks. Very good eye shape and set. Good body type. Coat of good length and texture but very dark. Points of even colour.

1st PC & BoB	Clunas’ CH & GR PR KLATRINGKATT MERLIN (67/14a) 30/10/96 It was indeed a pleasure to handle this extremely large and attractive chap again, even though he was a touch grouchy today! A superb exhibit fitting the NFC SoP so closely and lacking nothing in size and strength. Ears of perfect size and shape and so very well set. Excellent eye shape and set. Head of very good proportions with very good lines to wedge. Profile just a fraction angular for perfection. Chin line just a little shallow. Excellent strongly built long body. Excellent legs. This cat shows himself so very well and stands so tall on the table. Superb tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent plume & ear tufts. A grand chap I have always admired.
2nd	Mee’s MAELSTROM LASSE KJUS (67/31at) 28/12/98 Ears of good size, shape and set. Profile a little angular. Skull a little broad. Excellent well grown chap with very good body type, well boned and muscled. Excellent coat length and texture. Lovely temperament.
3rd	Handy’s DOVREGUBBEN ELD RAV (67/31d) 22/06/98 A cat with a big temperament – he clearly realised that I appreciate red mogs! Very good size and build. Excellent ear shape and set. Profile too angular. Coat of excellent length and texture, of vibrant hot red and sparkling white. Wonderful outgoing nature.

Very good head type. Ears large and well set. Very good muzzle. Excellent eye shape and set. Very good body type with balanced legs and tail. Very good coat texture. Ticking clear, even and well defined. Colour rather cold.

2 Laugher’s CH LOHR SUICIDE BLONDE 72/45bq 10/08/97
This rather grumpy lady didn’t do herself any favours! Head of very good type overall, though nose a little long in profile. Ears correct shape and set. Good body type. Small defect at tip of tail. Coat a little long. Ticking rather indistinct.

1 PC & BoB Bradley’s NEMOREZ CUDDLEY CUTHBERT 72/43bsq 25/05/99
This most attractive young chap really caught my eye! At a mere nine months he is a very strongly built cat – I hope he will not coarsen with age. Excellent ears and domed top of head. Excellent eye shape and set. Very good profile, though nose a fraction long. Excellent body type with perfectly balanced legs. Tail very short with terminal blip, but I felt his qualities far outweighed this. Excellent coat length and texture. Wonderful brightly coloured tipping on a crystal clear silver ground. Certainly a most attractive chap with a wonderful temperament. This lad must surely have a very bright future.

2 Raybould’s GR CH VERVAIN TARAZED 72/43sq 23/06/97
Head of overall excellence. Good ear set. Eyes good shape and set. Body of rather heavy type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent even shading of superb colour on clear ground.

3 Bryant & Ridley’s ROSSICAT CREAM SURPRISE 72/43fsq 09/05/99
A large cat of overall fair type. Head lacking typical Asian type. Coat of good texture. Excellent even shading, though I thought the colour more Apricot than cream.

Considered for BoB : Gaskell’s GR PR RAINSONG RAMPRAKASK 72/43nsq 03/04/98
A very attractive exhibit of superb type with a magnificent head. I found his shading to be rather heavy and I would certainly question whether he is silver – his colour is warm and I was unable to find any trace of silver in his coat.

Not as Registered : Gaskell’s PR RAINSONG APRILSHOWERS 72/42n 03/04/98
Unfortunately I was unable to make any award to this exhibit, as she does not appear to be 72/42n. Accordingly I marked her ‘Not as Registered’. I could find NO evidence of ANY indication of Silver in her coat, even behind the ears. In addition she has a very distinct mask and points, indicating Burmese restriction.

Tabby Neuter Female

1 PC & BoB Wilson’s GR CH VERVAIN GOLDBERRY 72/45
An older lady showing signs of advancing years. Head of very good type. Excellent ears. Pleasing profile. Excellent eye shape and set. Well balanced body. Excellent coat length and texture. Colour a little cold, and showing very grey roots but with superb crisp clear ticking.

An excellent tempered young chap showing great promise. Large excellently shaped ears of correct set. Very good even profile. Good chin line. Excellent eye shape and set. Muzzle just a little square. Excellent body type. Tall elegant legs with dainty feet. Excellent long tail. Glacial white coat of excellent length and texture. Superb temperament. A most attractive example of the variety.

A pleasing head spoiled by lack of substance to muzzle.

CC Not Awarded. Head overall too narrow. Ears fair size, good shape and set. Muzzle very square. Profile uneven. Body of very good length and elegant type. Slender legs, dainty feet. Well balanced tail. Coat of very good length and texture.

1 IC & BoB Parkinson’s SMAUG MINNIE THEMINX 42e 23/02/99
Well balanced head. Correctly set ears of very good size and shape. Excellent profile and top of head. Eyes of good shape and set would prefer clearer green. Muzzle showing slight pinch. Body of good type with well proportioned legs and tail. Excellent short close lying coat of very even colour. Excellent clear silver base. A most attractive Smoke of excellent quality.

2 Hemmings’ BOSSCATS THELADYOF SHALLOTT 42e 10/03/97
Fair head type. Ears of fair shape and set. Profile very uneven. Pronounced muzzle pinch spoiling lines to wedge. Excellent eye shape and set, reasonable green in colour. Fair body type, tail short for balance. Coat of good length and texture. Colour rather lacking in intensity. Very poor silvering.

Blue Kitten

1 & BoB Cogan’s WESTGARTH MITCHIGAN 37a 24/09/99
Head of excellent type overall. Ears very well set, of good size and shape. Excellent even profile. Eyes very good shape and set, good green colouring. Very good fine body type. Coat a little uneven and showing ghosting to tail. Scattered white hairs across shoulders. I felt that type outweighed coat faults which could improve with age.

Tortoisehell Neuter

1 Lloyd’s SEIDO SUMMER LIGHTNING 37h 08/05/95
PC & BoB Not Awarded. An older exhibit showing her age. Skull too flat, profile far too angular. Very square muzzle. Ears fair shape and set. Fair eye shape. Body a trifle compact and tail short for balance. Coat rather long and woolly in texture. Excellent rich coat coloration.

2 Smith’s CH MOONSWAY NITEFIRE 37h 06/10/95
Another elderly lady. Head rather narrow with severe muzzle pinch. Ears fair size and set. Eyes of good shape and set. Body type rather cobby with short tail. Coat of good rich colouring.
