NOR'EAST OF SCOTLAND CAT CLUB
13th May 2006
My thanks to Bruce & Gillian and the Committee for
inviting me to judge at this the most northerly GCCF Championship show. I have
judged at this show in the past but in recent years have been an exhibitor, so
it made a pleasant changer to return as a Judge. The cool fresh interior of the
Caird Hall is a delight to be in and certainly a comfortable atmosphere for the
cats, with Bruce & Gillian in charge you'd expect everyone to keep their
cool! My thanks as always to Mark for stewarding for me.

This lad caused me a bit of a problem! Overall he is a very well
grown chap of good quality with the most delightful nature. Unfortunately
though he has some head weakness, I felt that this must be taken into account
and with great regret withheld the CC. A large well grown exhibit of excellent
size and substance. Ears just a little small for balance, though of good size
and set. Good level top of head. Eyes of excellent colour, very good shape.
Profile lacking sufficient definition. Very little cheek definition resulting
in a straight sided wedge rather than the desired muzzle. Excellent strong body
type. Excellent coat length and texture. Very good colour, fair tabby markings,
and good white markings. A lovely tempered chap.

A very pleasing young female of very good size and substance for
age. Ears of excellent size, shape and setting. Very good top of head. Very
good profile, well balanced nose. Cheeks developing well, very good muzzle
shape. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Very good
colour, well marked. A pleasing youngster well worthy of the CC.

A very nice youngster showing a great deal of
promise. Skull just a little broad across the eyes. Ears of good shape and size
but set just a little low. Skull a little flat and profile showing a definite
change of plane at the brow. Eyes just a little large for balance. Excellent
body type, well proportioned legs, good length plume. Excellent coat length and
texture. A delightful youngster, I would happily have given him the BoB
.. and then I met his sister!

What a delight this girl is! Head extremely well proportioned. Ears of
correct size, shape and setting with lovely tufts. Very good profile. Excellent
lines to wedge with pleasing muzzle. Excellent bite and strong chin. Eyes of
very good shape and set, in proportion with head. Excellent body type, needs
just a bit more padding. Excellent legs. Excellent tail length. Excellent coat
length and texture showing superb ruff and furnishings. A really delightful
young female simply oozing quality and charm
.. and what a friendly lass
she is! Could happily have brought her home!!!

Ears of fair size, but set just a fraction wide
and carried low. Excellent profile. Good firm chin, pleasing lines to wedge.
Excellent long body of correct type, superb legs, good length tail. Coat far
too soft and certainly not water repellent, this was the reason for withholding
the PC.
BoB : Hermon's PR ADFURLO ANDANTE 67 31t 06/02/04 A very
attractive exhibit with a very superior air! Excellent size and overall type.
Ears just a little wide set. Excellent profile. Excellent coat length and
texture.

Another very attractive cat.
Excellent type overall. Ears of correct size and shape, well set. Excellent
profile. Excellent body type, excellent legs and correctly proportioned tail.
Coat a little soft and rather short - unfortunately this cost him the BoB. A
delightful chap.

Unfortunately this exhibit
. certainly no lady
was in a bit of a strop and objected strongly
to being handled; it was therefore somewhat difficult to assess her! Ears of
good size, fairly well set but held too low. Head too broad for balance. Fair
profile. Fairly good body type, lacking a little in length. Coat of good length
and excellent texture.
2 Herbert's ELFENTANZ SORT BRITT 67 15 24/05/95
Unfortunately this older lady was a little upset by her neighbour and didn't
show to advantage. Ears a little small and too wide in set. Skull too flat
resulting in an angular profile. Fair body type. Excellent coat length and
texture.

A very promising youngster indeed,
probably one of the best Tiffanies I've handled
.. yes I really did like
her. A well grown kitten of overall excellent type. Excellent head with superb
domed top. Ears of excellent size and set. Excellent profile, good strong chin
and perfect bite. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture being
delightfully silky with no hint of being woolly. Excellent colouring in accord
with Breed No. Delightful temperament. This is a kitten to watch!

ADMILSH SILVER CHARMER 72 43sq 22/09/00 I was surprised to see that the tree
Asian Neuters were litter brother and sisters
. And a nice bunch of older
exhibits at that! Ears very good shape and set. Nice top of head. Good profile.
Very good body type. Coat of good length but rather thick and woolly in
texture. Excellent colour, very well shaded.

carriage. Fair profile though rather long in the nose. Good body type. Tail a
little short and thick. Coat a little woolly in texture. Fair ticking and
silver.

PR ADMILSH WISHUPONASTAR 72 45q 22/09/00
Overall a lady of pleasing Asian
type. Good head shape, good profile. Ears well set. Eyes good size and shape.
Body a little chunky probably a result of advancing years! Coat of good length
and better texture than her litter mates. Fairly well ticked, lacking enough
warmth. A nice lass well deserving the BoB
Oriental Champion,
Female
1, GCC n/a Brown's CH THISTLEWAY FLIGHTOFFANCY 35 15/06/04
Ears of good size but set far too wide and low giving the head a totally
unbalanced appearance. Eyes of very good shape, good colour, but rather
horizontal in set. Skull very uneven spoiling profile. Prominent chin, very
untidy bite. Excellent lines to wedge. Body of very elegant Oriental type,
slender limbs, neat paws, well balanced tail. Coat very short and close lying.
Unfortunately head faults preclude the award of GCC.
Oriental
Spotted Tabby Neuter
Considered for BoB : Bell's PR FARAMIR
MOONSHADOW 38n 20/01/05
This exhibit is indeed a very attractive cat and
certainly adopts a very superior pose in the pen - he looks every inch an
Oriental of quality. Overall from the front he has a superb head, with
everything in balance and forming a perfect triangle. His ears are of excellent
size and set. Very good profile, excellent lines to the wedge. Excellent chin.
Unfortunately, and clearly visible in side view, he has prominent bony
protrusions at the back of the skull. Excellent body type. Excellent coat
length and texture. Unfortunately his pattern does not conform to either the
Oriental Spotted Tabby, or the Oriental Shaded standard of points. The pattern
is very feint and superficial, but extends too far down for a Shaded, I was
fascinated by his tail markings which were decidedly silver contrasting sharply
with his very warm body colour. Unfortunately his head and colouring both
preclude the award of BoB.
