Durham County Cat Club

My first time judging at Durham for a few years, a very pleasant small show which I thoroughly enjoyed. My grateful thanks to Pina Bruno-Grieve for stewarding for me and for taking so much interest in the exhibits.

Norwegian Forest, Adult Male
1 CC n/a Metcalfe's CH NORGESKAUKATT ARNOR 67 20 M 09-08-08
Head overall too short for width. Ears rather small, wide set and held flattened. Excellent profile, correct bite and strong chin. Body of very good type and substance - such a pity he sat like a pudding and didn't show himself to advantage. Tail of good length. Excellent length back with tall balanced legs. Coat of excellent length but was rather soft and 'fluffy' in texture with a knot on one side. Much to like about him but on the day I didn't feel he was to CC standard.

2 Healing's NOYNAROCK USI ATJHARDUFAE 67 36 M 17-04-09
A well grown youngster of overall good size and type. Head overall a little short for width. Ears of good size and shape, fairly well set but he would insist on holding them wide. Profile shows bump on nose and overall is a little uneven. Excellent eyes. Body of good size and type, just lacking a little substance. Coat of very good length and texture. Rather a dour lad who suffered being judged!

A well grown young lady of overall quality. Excellent type. Head of very good balanced type. Ears very good size, shape and set correctly - held to advantage. Excellent eye shape. Long body of good substance and size. Strongly boned to legs, long well plumed tail. Excellent coat length and texture. A very alert and attractive lady who showed herself off to perfection. A quality cat and a joy to judge.

A strongly built muscular youngster of excellent type overall. Ears of very good size and shape - maybe just a little wide in set. Lovely eyes. Head correctly balanced. Excellent profile, correct bite and strong chin. Excellent elegant body type, muscular and solid. Tall legs, very good length to back, good strength of bone. Long tail. Excellent coat length and texture, shown well. Excellent condition and temperament. A really alert lad well deserving of the PC.

A large and strongly build exhibit - a magnificent lad! Excellent head type. Ears of very good size and shape perfectly set. Large eyes of correct shape. Excellent profile. Body of excellent type, long well muscled and elegant too. Very good length to tail. Coat of excellent length and texture. Excellent condition. A delightful natured lad well deserving of the BoB.

Cornish Rex, Neuter Male

Unfortunately I did not consider that the head of this exhibit was typical of the breed - it is far too oriental in shape and lacks the desired muzzle. Ears far too wide set and flared. Profile far too even. Body of fair type. Legs a little short. Tail fair length. Coat short and dense showing good rexing, excellent fine silky texture. Well marked. A good natured lad, well presented.

Asian (Tiffanie) Neuter

An attractive lady of overall good type. Head just a little weak. Very good body type. Excellent coat length and texture, dense black to the roots. A sweet natured lass shown in veryy good condition - well deserving of BoB.

Oriental Caramel Adult Male

A large and extremely fat youngster - when I first judged him I thought he must be a neuter - which clearly he isn't!! Head a little broad for balance. Ears very good size, shape and set. Bright green eyes of very good size, shape and set. Very good even profile, correct bite, firm chin. Body type is actually good, but he does appear to be rather cobby because of the fat. Coat of very good length, very even colour and sound to the roots. An awful lot to like about this very friendly cat, BUT a strict diet is definitely needed.

A lovely kitten! Ears large and well set with excellent with between.. Good profile overall, slight bump on nose and skull a little flat for perfection. Very good lines to wedge. Correct bite and firm chin. Eyes of very good shape and set, excellent colour. Excellent elegant body type, tall legs and neat paws. Tail rather short and blunt. Coat of excellent length and texture, close lying, dense glossy black and almost sound to the roots. Excellent temperament and condition.

What a stunner!! Perfectly balanced head of excellent type. Ears of very good size, very well set. Excellent profile, firm chin. Eyes of excellent size and shape, maybe a little horizontal in set, excellent bright clear green. Body of excellent type, long fine and elegant. Very dainty limbs, neat spoon feet, tail long and well tapered. Coat of very good texture, just a little long for perfection. Two thirds white to colour. Excellent bright clear red, black showing clearly defined ticking. A very attractive sweet natured lass well deserving of BoB - she has all the qualities you could ask for!

A very elegant and finely built male, possibly a little effeminate. Head of very good type and balance. Ears large and well set, very good shape. Good profile, correct bite and firm chin. Muzzle a little fine, good lines to wedge. Eyes of very good size and set, light green in colour. Excellent long neck. Body of excellent length and correct type, very slim. Well tapered tail, needs just a fraction more length. Long elegant legs, very neat paws. Coat a little long, excellent colour, sound and even throughout. A delightful lad and a real pleasure to judge. Well deserving of both certificates. A welcome
