My thanks once again to Dorothy Tomlinson and the Committee for inviting me to judge at my local show. Thanks also to Tom Price for stewarding for me, many thanks for your help Tom.

Norwegian Forest Cat Male Adult
1 CC n/a Kemp's ANOWCAPE ANDAF NORGE
Unfortunately this chap was very agitated and though he conceded to being stroke in the pen he was not prepared to be handled out of the pen. As I was unable to carry out a full examination of him I was unable to even consider the award of CC. Ears of good size and shape, but they appeared rather too wide in set. Eyes very good shape and set. Profile appeared good. Body rather lacking weight, spine rather prominent. Coat a little sparse. Not a happy chap.

Norwegian Forest Cat Female Adult
1 CC n/a Sedgewick's CATWO HONEY PIE
Overall a very small female of very cobby type lacking the size and elegance of a typical NFO. Head overall short for balance. Ears small and wide set. Eyes good shape and set. Fair profile. Body short and cobby. Legs short. Coat fair length and texture. Unfortunately this queen falls short of the requirements of the SoP and I had no alternative but to withhold the CC and considered whether I should award the First prize.

Norwegian Forest Cat Male Kitten
1 & BoB Rowberry's FENRISULVEN ALVIS 67/31ft
A very pleasing young chap at 4 months of age. Excellent size for his age. Ears excellent shape and set with correct width between. Very good profile. Excellent chin, even bite. Eyes very good shape and set. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. A pleasing youngster well deserving of BoB.

2 Sedgwick's CATWO ARTIMUS 67/31d
A well grown youngster of 8 months. Head overall of good shape, just a little wide at the skull. Ears of fairly good shape and set, good size. Very good profile, good chin. Very good body type, well muscled, good strength of bone. Excellent coat length and texture.

3 Gordon's NOYNAROCK EILERT 67 36d
Excellent size for age. Ears good size and shape, set a little too wide. Eyes good shape. Skull rather flat giving an angular profile. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent condition and temperament.

Norwegian Forest Cat Female Kitten
Not Judged : Sedgewick's CATWO SEA BISCUIT 67/22a
Unfortunately this kitten was so very nervous and distressed that I felt unable to judge her …. To have persisted would have been grossly unfair to the kitten and could have resulted in a biting certificate. I called the Duty Vet who confirmed that the kitten was too distressed to be judged.

Norwegian Forest Cat Male Neuter
1 PC & BoB Coward's NORDLYS ATHANASIAS 67 31ts
A fine example of the breed showing excellent size and substance. Ears of very good size and shape, well set but carried a little low. Eyes of very good shape and size. Very good profile, firm chin and even bite. Excellent body length and overall type. Tall legs, well balanced tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent condition and delightful temperament. A very pleasing Gent who has come on well since I last judged him, certainly well worthy of PC.

Oriental Champion Male
Grand CC : Parkinson's GR CH JOYJEWEL SMAUG AKIVA 45b
A large strongly built masculine exhibit of overall excellent Oriental type. Large ears of excellent shape and set. Eyes of very good shape and set, just a little large; clear green colour Good profile, firm chin and even bite. Excellent body type. Tail a little short and thick for perfection. Excellent coat length and texture. Well marked face, legs and tail. Coat of very good length and texture. Excellent chocolate ticking on superb warm ground. A bit of a timorous beastie shown in excellent condition. Well deserving the Grand.
Reserve Grand : Browning's CH PIPPASTRO SILVERSMITH 62/18
An extremely large muscular exhibit of overall excellent type. Ears large of excellent shape, but set far too low. Excellent profile. Eyes very good shape and set, pleasing colour. Excellent length of body, perfectly balanced. Coat very good texture, needing slightly more length. A magnificent example of Oriental type, shown in superb condition …. And what a superb outgoing temperament.

Also entered :
Simpson's CH NITERAP CHESTNUT BROWN 29
Excellent oriental type overall. Excellent head shape. Ears of very good size, shape and set. Excellent lines to wedge. Fair profile, skull just a little flat, very good chin line. Eyes a little full but of correct size and set. Excellent body type, balanced limbs & tail. Coat fair length, just a little 'sticky' in texture. Colour very uneven and extremely unsound.

Lumley's GR CH JADEVYN DARKSPIRIT 37
A cat of good Oriental type, but overall lacking strength and masculinity. Head overall rather short for balance. Ears very good shape and size with excellent width between, unfortunately carried too low. Skull flat spoiling an otherwise good profile. Excellent eye shape and set, clear brilliant green in colour. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture, colour dense black and sound to the roots. Excellent temperament and condition.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Female Adult
Not as Registered : Anten's MERRYTAIL HIDDEN TREASURE
Unfortunately this attractive little female is a Blue Shaded showing residual spotting rather than a Blue Tabby - undercoat is well developed and pattern colour restricted to upper part of hair shaft.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Kitten
1 & BoB Caney's MERRYTAIL JUDAH 38a
Oh dear what can I say about this kitten, other than perhaps 'Stunning'!!!
We had several lengthy chats during the morning and became good mates ….. in fact he really really would have liked to come home with me!
An outstanding kitten in every way. Head of overall excellence. Ears large, correct shape and perfectly set. Excellent profile, strong chin. Excellent eye shape and set, clear green with perfect expression. Excellent lines to wedge with strength to muzzle. Superb length of neck. Excellent body type showing correct length and elegance. Long legs with neat paws. Excellent long whipped tail, just a slight thickening at the tip. Excellent coat length and texture. Absolutely perfect spotted pattern on sides, till a little heavy in dorsal area in accord with his age. Excellent even mid blue markings on exceptionally good warm oatmeal / beige ground. Excellent condition. This little chap really does have a wonderful temperament and thoroughly enjoyed being handled! It is many a year since I last handled a Spotted tabby with such perfection of pattern, and I cannot remember ever seeing a better coloured blue tabby. All breeders are aware that tabbies have a tendency to lose their spots and I note from the catalogue that he is a repeat mating of the adult OST female and the OST Neuter, however there is no doubt that on the day he was a most impressive OST and it was no surprise that he was BiS Oriental. A great pleasure to judge him. I shall certainly watch this little chap with great interest. Congratulations to owner / breeder.

Oriental Blue Male Neuter
1 PC & BoB Nall's PR MERRYTAIL GENTLEMAN TED An excellent large male of overall excellent type and elegance. Large ears correct shape and set. Excellent profile. Eyes of excellent shape and set, clear green in colour. Very good lines to wedge showing just a slight pinch. Long well muscled body of excellent type, excellent long legs and long whip tail. Coat of excellent length and texture. Coat colour very even, and appeared to be of very acceptable colouring. Excellent temperament and condition. A very pleasing chap well worthy of PC & BoB

Oriental Spotted Tabby Male Neuter
1 PC n/a Nall's MERRYTAIL RORY 38 Another large male of excellent type, very much like his brother 'Ted'. Ears very good size shape and set. Eyes good size and shape, correct set, colour rather more yellow than green. Muzzle showing noticeable pinch. Good firm chin and even bite. Excellent body type. Coat of very good length and texture, colour overall rather cold lacking the richness required in a brown tabby. Pattern overall well formed, with a fair degree of soundness to roots, but unfortunately showing an excessive and unacceptable degree of agouti invasion …. The spots were dark agouti on a light agouti ground, and this combined with the cold colour was the reason I felt unable to award the PC. A delightful natured chap.
