ASIAN

Smoke or Burmilla Cat, Male

1 Johnson's VERVAIN TARIQ 72/43s 10/4/99
A large chap of overall rather heavy type. Ears of fair size and set. Skull far too flat. Fair profile. Eyes of fair shape & set. Nose rather long. Heavy body and limbs. Coat of good texture but long. Heavy shading of fairly even distribution. Very good silver ground, with only the faintest hint of tarnishing. Sorry I did not feel he reached the required standard for a cc.

Smoke or Burmilla Cat, Female

1 CC & BoB Holt / Higgin's NEMOREZ SPARKLING CHAMPAGNE 72/43bsq. 25/5/99
A superb youngster of overall excellence. Head of very good type. Ears of good size and set with beautifully rounded dome. Excellent profile. Very neat nose and muzzle. Expressive eyes of lovely shape and correct set. Excellent dainty body of correct type. Very good tail for balance. Excellent dainty limbs. Coat of excellent length and texture. Excellent even tipping of good colour on a clear silver ground. Superb temperament. What a beautiful exhibit this lass is, certainly well deserving of CC & BoB!

2. Hingson's AMHINJA SOPHIE GERMAIN 72/42q. 5/4/99
A smallish queen of medium type. Head of fair type. Skull far too flat. Eyes rather large and very full. Coat a little long. Excellent colour, but rather more silver than I like in a Smoke.

Smoke or Burmilla Neuter Male

1 Raybould's GD CH VERVAIN TARAZED 72/43sq. 23/6/97
A cat of very heavy type and carrying too much weight. Ears of good set but a little small for balance. Skull too flat lacking dome. Nose too long. Coat long but of good texture. Excellent even tipping on a superb silver ground. I felt his type did not warrant a PC.

Grand Premier Male

GR PR Wooller’s GR CH & SUP GR PR CHELANCA LORD GYLLENE 43bs
A most striking exhibit of overall excellence. Large ears of correct shape and set. Excellent profile. Chin very shallow. Eyes of excellent shape and set, fairly good green for a silver in this breed. Excellent body type, elegant limbs. Tail short for balance. Excellent coat length and texture. Clear chocolate shading on a silver ground, which on the day was rather muddy and showed tarnishing on face and legs. I gave the silver the benefit of the doubt and query whether the hall lighting may have been less than helpful. The ticking on this Shaded chap is wide, blurred and indistinct and totally different to the crisp distinct ticking of a Ticked Tabby. Superb temperament and condition.

2 Handley's CH & PR MESHUGA FIRESTARTER 37d
Head overall too long giving an unbalanced appearance. Ears large and correctly set, but carried a little low. Profile very uneven. Eyes of correct set, but poor shape being little more than slits. No evidence of any green in the eye colour. Muzzle long with severe pinch. Chin very prominent. Body of excellent type and balance. Coat of good length and texture. Excellent rich red with freedom from ghosting. Unfortunately I felt the head faults precluded the award of Res Gd.

Dodds' GR PR SAITAN BRIE 38bs
Ears rather small for balance and slightly high in set. Skull a little flat giving angular profile. Eyes of good shape & set, excellent green. Body of good length and type. Tail short for balance. Coat a trifle long. Excellent silver ground. Pattern far too elongated and showing excessive agouti invasion. I would like the pattern to extend closer to the skin.

Weaver's PR MAGICAL SHADOWMAN 29c
Ears of fair shape and set. Skull too flat with angular profile. Eyes fair shape and set, colour a dull opal. Muzzle showing severe pinch. Body type a little heavy. Tail short for balance with terminal pip. Coat fair length and texture. Colour very dull, dark and lacking the pinkish tones of a lilac, and indeed had I been able to take the cat to natural daylight I would in all probability question his registration.

Grand Premier Female

GR PR Stafford's GD CH & PR HEYBURY OPRAWINFRY 37
A fine female of overall excellent oriental type. Good head type. Ears of excellent shape, size and set. Skull rather too flat and uneven. Muzzle just a little pinched. Excellent eye shape and set. Elegant body type of pleasing Oriental type. Tail a little short and slight thick at the tip. Excellent coat length and texture. Good dense black colour and sound to roots. Excellent temperament and condition. Overall a most attractive exhibit and well worthy of the Gr Pr.

Angora Cat, Female

1 IC & BoB Harris' SHIMERGAE FANTASIA 62/15c
What a really nice dainty young lady! Head of overall pleasing type. Ears of good size and correct set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Good firm chin. Excellent eye shape and set with an exquisite expression. Very good green colour. Excellent body type. Long well balanced tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Coat colour the softest warmest lilac one could ask for. Superb temperament. Shown in excellent condition. I was really taken with this lass, a pleasure to handle.
