My thanks to Beryl and Judy for inviting me to judge once again at this well organised show. The Dome is a most comfortable venue. My thanks to Mark for stewarding for me.
RAGDOLL
AC BI-COLOUR CAT, FEMALE
1st | Sprot's WIMSEYCATS PETRUSHKA (66/31a) 10
months A very small and fined boned female, which even allowing for her age did not conform to the basic requirements of the breed. Head lacking width, small for balance and far too fine. Wedge too fine with little or no cheeks. Ears set rather upright. Fair profile. Coat of good texture. Showing a large % of white - front legs, shoulder and collar white; hind legs, thighs and rump white. I hesitated over awarding a 1st. |
AC COLOURPOINT/MITTED CAT, MALE
1st, IC & BoB | Parkin's WIMSEYCATS PRICELESS JEWEL (66) 9
months What a nice young chap! Very good size and build for age with strongly developed bone. Ears good size and set. Good profile though nose a little long. Excellent bite. Cheeks developing well. Excellent eye shape and set showing the deepest clearest blue colouring I think I've ever seen in this Breed. Excellent body type though tail is a little short for balance. Coat of very good length and texture. Excellent body colour, excellent points colour. A most promising youngster well deserving the IC on the day. |
AC COLOURPOINT/MITTED CAT, FEMALE
1st | Shooter's ADMILLO HAPPYTYME DUCHESS (66) 10
months Overall far too small and fine boned even allowing for her age. Ears large and high set. Muzzle far too fine and lacking cheek development. Eyes good shape and set. Fair profile. Coat of very good texture. Well marked. Overall not to IC standard. |
AC COLOURPOINT/MITTED NEUTER, FEMALE
1st, IC & BoB | Parkin's ADOUZLO CHERUBIN MOET (66aw) 7
years This mature exhibit has a large solid body that was all muscle! Excellent ear shape and set. Excellent top of head with the desired planes. Excellent profile overall though just a little deep cut. For perfection nose could be a fraction shorter. Eyes of very good set, good colour and fair size. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent clear body colour, excellent points colour and excellent clarity of markings. A most delightful natured gent in excellent condition well deserving IC. |
2nd | Campion's KOOLFUR ROCKME AMADEUS (66) 9
months A most promising youngster lacking only in maturity. Head of overall very good type. Ears well set. Excellent eye shape and set. Very good profile. Cheeks developing well. Very good body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent points colour. |
3rd | Lawrence's SONNYWOOD BOSSA NOVA (66a) 11
months Very good head overall. Ears very good shape and set. Excellent skull. Fair coloured eyes of good shape and set. Very good body type with strong bone. Excellent coat of good colour. Another promising youngster. |
ASIAN
SMOKE OR BURMILLA CAT, FEMALE
1st, CC & BoB | Gaskell's RAINSONG PASHMINA (72/43bsq) 16
months I think I quite liked this exhibit! She is perhaps one of the most outstanding examples of this breed it has been my privilege to judge; fitting so closely to my interpretation of the Breed Standard. She also has that nature which you just can't ignore! Excellent head shape. Excellent ear shape and setting. Excellent eye shape set and colour. Excellent profile. Good firm chin. Excellent body type oozing with elegance. Tail of very good length and shape with just a slight thickening at tip. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent light even shading on excellent silver ground. Excellent condition and temperament. She is sheer perfection and I compliment both her breeder and her owners. I contemplated doing a runner with her! |
2nd | Hingston's AMHINJA SHERRY TRUFFLE (72/43sq)
15 months Of fairly good type overall. Ears a little high in set. Eyes a little too horizontal in set. Good profile. Muzzle a little fine. Pleasing body type. Very good coat length and texture. Good colour and shading. |
Considered for BoB | Kemp's CH. NATZKATZ ASIAN PRINCESS (72/42q)
19 months This exhibit was difficult to handle and did herself no favours. She appeared to be of average type only. Ears set too high. Rather long in nose. Eyes very full with startled appearance. Fair profile. Coat rather long and needing clearer silver base. |
ORIENTAL
CREAM OR APRICOT KITTEN
1st & BoB | Thorp's WESTGARTH PRICELESS (37fn) 5
months What a cracking little lady, certainly my type of kitten and she certainly knows how to use her charm! Excellent head overall. Ears excellent size shape and set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile with just a slight bump to it at present. Excellent firm chin with even bite. Excellent lines to wedge. Excellent eye shape and set, eye colour acceptable green. Excellent body type. Excellent short close lying coat, colour sound to the roots and showing minimal barring. In the lighting it was difficult to assess colour and I would have like to see her in daylight. She certainly is a really attractive young female who I would suggest has a very promising show career in front of her - her name seems very appropriate! |
2nd | Wooller's SHOWBIZ WHATABOY (37fn) 21
weeks Of overall good type. Excellent head shape overall. Eyes good shape and set of good green colour. Muzzle showing teething pinch. Slight dip to profile. Body a little short for balance. Tail well tapered but needing length. Excellent coat length and texture. Colour definitely seemed rather more Cream than Apricot to me, but in the hall lighting I could not be certain. |
CARAMEL KITTEN ASSESSMENT
Merit | Phillip's STILETTO KAI (37n) 9 months A kitten of overall very good type. Ears good size and set, but held a little upright. Eyes excellent shape and set, good colour. Elegant body type. Tail of good length and taper. Coat very good length and texture. Good colour showing only slight ghosting, not quite sound to roots. |
HAVANA NEUTER MALE
1st (PC n/a) | Woolrich's SNAPY WILDTHING (29) 12
months Ears rather high in set. Top of head rather flat. Fair profile. Fair lines to wedge. Eyes good shape and set of good green colour. Good body type with elegant legs. Very good tail length. Coat colour rather patchy and not quite sound. Overall not to PC standard. |
2nd | Keane's RAMIREZ MONTEREY (29) 14
months Ears of good shape but held too low. Skull overall too flat and uneven. Eyes of fair shape and set, good colour but tendency to squint. Muzzle very square with severe pinch. Body type rather heavy. Coat colour uneven and very unsound. |
CARAMEL NEUTER ASSESSMENT
No Merit | Wallwein's FIORDILISO SOLACE (37n) 9
months Very good Oriental type overall. Ears very good shape and set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Slight muzzle pinch. Eyes of excellent shape and set, excellent green colour. Excellent body type, well balanced legs. Long elegant body. Excellent coat length and texture. Fair colour showing very heavy ghosting, and very unsound. Rather a grumpy youngster. |
