LANCASHIRE CAT CLUB
10th March 2001
John S Harrison
My thanks to Show Chris Titterington for inviting me to judge once again at this show. I have to say that the venue is far better than most halls, and though there is no natural light the artificial lighting is of a very high standard and does not appear to affect eye or coat colour. My thanks to Mark Parkinson for stewarding for me.
NORWEGIAN FOREST CAT
MALE NEUTER
1st (PC n/a) | Dobson's PR MAYSULA VICHIKHAO (67 31ts) Ears of good size and shape but rather too low in set. Head too broad in proportion to length. Profile rather angular. Eyes of good size and setting but very full. Good size body of excellent length and balance. Excellent coat length and texture. |
ASIAN
TIFFANIE MALE NEUTER
1st & IC | Copley's KEVONA SIMPLY DASHING (68
43as) Head of overall good type. Ears of good shape and set, could be a little larger. Good profile. Nose of good length. Very good body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Very good colour, just a little tarnishing to face. Well worthy of the IC. |
ORIENTAL
GRAND PREMIER MALE
GPC | Wooller's GR CH & SUP GR PR CHELANCA LORD
GYLLENE (43bs) I have judged and commented on this well known exhibit on very many occasions. Excellent Oriental head and body type. Chin very shallow. Excellent coat length and texture. Well marked clearly shaded coat. Silver ground very muddy in colour. Excellent temperament. Well worthy of yet another Grand! |
2nd | Cook's PR HEYBURY TREVELYAN (45bs) This chap is half brother to the above and is a cat of overall excellent type. Head conforms closely to Standard. Ears very good shape size and setting. Very good profile with good strong chin. Excellent lines to wedge. Excellent body type. Tail needs a little more length and has a slight thickening at the tip. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent colour chocolate ticking which lacks a little in clarity, but is distinctly a Ticked Tabby and clearly different to 'Lord Gyllene' who is a Shaded of ticked pattern. Unfortunately the silver of this chap is of very low grade and he has excessive pigmentation in the silver ground on the legs and belly, the latter being bright orange and not white/off white. Regrettably I could not award the Reserve to this otherwise excellent chap. |
Thirsk's PR MISHKANA SECRET AGENT
(37) Head of fair type. Ears a little high in set with insufficient width between. Very full eyes of fair colour. Severe muzzle pinch. Very good body type, balanced legs. Tail of good length, lacking sufficient taper. Good length coat of very good texture; dense colour and sound to the root. |
TORTIE ADULT
1st (CC n/a) | Cogan's WESTGARTH TRUE COLOURS (37e) This very bad tempered lady most certainly did not show herself to best advantage, and it was not possible to fully assess her! Ears rather high in set. Very uneven profile. Severe muzzle pinch. At this point I beat a hasty retreat! |
ANGORA KITTEN
1st & BoB | Rice's MISTYTOR SATCHMO (62 15) Of overall good type. Ears of good size but set a little too high. Fair profile. Brilliant green eyes of very good shape and set. Excellent body length and type. Excellent coat length and texture. Coat colour very patchy at present. I made allowance for the colour in view of the kittens age. |
CARAMEL KITTEN ASSESSMENT
Merit | Wallwein's FIORDILISO SOLACE (37n) A kitten of overall excellent type. Ears excellent shape and set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile, square chin. Green eyes of excellent shape and set. Long elegant body. Balanced legs and tail. Excellent distinct Caramel colour, not sound to roots and showing heavy ghosting. A very attractive kitten indeed. |
