LANCASHIRE CAT CLUB
9th March
2002
My thanks to Chris Titterington and the Committee for inviting me to judge. As always with Chris in charge the show was well organised and hassle free. My thanks to Mark for stewarding for me.
AC Bicolour Ragdoll Neuter
1 PC n/a Harnell's CHARISMAGIC
DREAMWEAVER 66 31. 01-05-2000
Head of fair type overall. Ears fair size shape and set. Good profile overall though
nose too long. Eyes of very good shape and set, excellent blue in colour. Muzzle too square. Cheeks lack sufficient definition.
Body lacking in size and substance. Good coat length and texture.
2 Ashworth's PR EMERISLE
SPINDRIFT 66 31a. 23-01-1999
Ears rather small for balance but well set. Fair profile. Nose too long. Cheeks need to
be better defined. Eyes fair shape and set. Body far too small and lightweight for a 3 year old male neuter. Coat short. Facial
markings unbalanced.
Considered for BoB: Haworth's PR POLLYWOFFLES TYSON 66 31a.
16-04-1999
An outstanding exhibit of excellent type, body, coat and markings - as I have commented previously this cat has
the qualities I look for in the breed.I had no hesitation in awarding the BoB - I was disappointed he was withdrawn from the
open, he would have had anopther PC!
Havana Female Adult
1 CC n/a O'Malley's FIORDILISO VITTORIOSA.
28-02-2001
A most attractive youngster indeed, and in the pen looked to be an easy winner. Ears of excellent size shape and
set, with very good width between. Excellent profile overall though showing a slight dip at the brow. Eyes of excellent shape
and set, and quite the greenest colour I have seen for some time, but unfortunately showing a definite squint. Examination of
the bite showed that many teeth were missing and that it was noticeably overshot. Excellent elegant body type. Excellent fine
limbs, excellent long whip tail. Coat of very good length and texture and of a superb rich true 'chestnut brown' colour, tough
unfortunately very unsound. Overall this youngster was extremely and stylish and one of the most attractive Havanas !'ve seen
for some time, unfortunately there were three major faults I could not ignore. Excellent temperament and condition.
2 Hudson's SHADOWSQUAD CODY. 18-03-2001
Ears fair size and set. Profile
far too angular with flat skull. Eyes of fair shape and set, light green in colour. Bite very undershot. Body of good Oriental
type. Coat of good length, a little harsh in texture. Colour very dark and unsound.
Oriental Black Male Adult
1 CC n/a Hacking's MORALYN IYM GILES. 01-02-2001
Ears of fair size and set. Very uneven profile showing a definite
skull depression. Bite very untidy, but is clearly overshot. Eyes fair shape and set of good colour. Good firm body of correct
type. Coat of very good length and texture though not sound to the roots. Good condition and temperament
Considered for BoB: North's CH MISHKANA DOUBLEOSEVEN. 23-10-1999.
Unfortunately I did not consider this exhibit to be of CC standard as he has a pronounced skull depression; which was
confirmed by a fellow judge; and therefore did not award the BoB.
Oriental Black Adult Female
1 CC n/a Oldfield's STILLETO BLACK EBONY. 29-05-1999.
Ears of fair shape and set. Profile very angular with noticeable
skull depression. Eyes fair shape and set. Muzzle showing severe pinch. Body very small but of good type. Tail very short and
blunt. Coat of fair length, very good texture, dense black with a good sheen AND TOTALLY SOUND.
Oriental Tortie Adult Female.
1 CC & BoB Brown's
ADMONSH DOMINIQUE 37h. 18-01-2001
A most attractive young female of overall Oriental
excellence. Excellent head overall. Ears of excellent shape size and set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Excellent
strong chin and perfect bite. Excellent eye shape and set, of very good clear green. Excellent strong yet elegant body type.
Well balanced legs and tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Colour showing far more red and cream than I like and as a
result shows excessive Classic Tabby ghost markings. Whilst she is heavily marked she is NOT a Tabby, and the colour is sound
to the root. I felt that the degree of markings was excessive and unacceptable, and was not going to award the CC solely on
this basis. However I checked the Breed Standard and as it does not specify heavy marking as a fault I felt justified in making
the award.
This class was scheduled to be judged by my Mother and was transferred to me in her absence. I was told that as I had previously awarded a Certificate to this stylish female a counter signature was required - I was surprised as I did not remember her! On checking an earlier report it is obvious that with age her colour has become far more red/cream and so the ghosting become more obvious. I am pleased that Mrs Leighton agreed with my award.
2 Stafford's HEYBURY XSARA 37h. 14-05-2001
A very attractive youngster.
Ears of very good shape and set. Excellent profile showing just a slight dip at the brow which will hopefully go with age. Eyes
of very good shape and set, colour rather hazel. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent rich colour,
evenly distributed, not quite sound to the root.
3 Salt's WESTGARTH CHEYENNE 37e. 29-10-2000
Head rather short for
balance. Ears fair shape and set. Fair profile. Eyes of reasonable shape and set, far too orange in colour. Fair body type.
Coat of good texture, rather long. Excellent colour distribution, very good clear colour and totally sound to the root.
Oriental Cream or Apricot Adult Female
1 CC & BoB Lumley's
JADEVYN INDIANSUMMER 37f. 20-03-2001. What a pleasant, no nonsense, little lass! This exhibit is
by no means flashy, but is a sound youngster with no faults - and a most charming way with her! Head of good overall shape.
Ears good shape and set. Fair profile. Good lines to wedge. Eyes good shape and set. Very good body length, correct type.
Balanced legs and tail. Excellent coat length and texture, of lovely soft powdery cream - not quite sound to the root.
Excellent condition and temperament. As I understand that this award made her up to Champion so I am obviously not the only
Judge she has charmed!
Oriental Shaded Adult Female
1 CC & BoB Fellows'
CHELANCA CHIQUITA 43hs. 09-04-01
Ears of very good shape and set with good width between. Very
good profile. Excellent lines to wedge. Eyes of good set, rather full, colour greenish hazel. Very good body type. Close lying
short coat of correct texture. Coat showing excellent even shading on a very bright clear silver ground. This exhibit
undoubtedly has the best shaded coat I have seen at a show - there is virtually no residual agouti hair; and an almost total
absence of tabby patterning or barring. In colour a rich mix of red, cream and very dark chocolate. The colour on the top of
her head is very solid and does detract from her qualities. Whilst I have some reservation concerning her head colouring I felt
the CC was deserved.
Oriental Cream or Apricot Neuter Male
1 PC n/a Hardy's
GINNISATAM LYSANDER 37fn. 20-10-2000
A cat of overall fair type. Ears well set but rather small
for balance. Fair profile. Good chin line, correct bite. Eyes of good shape and set but clear mustard in colour. Muzzle rather
square. Body of good type, balanced legs and tail. Coat of good length and colour. Clear Apricot colour. Excellent condition
and temperament. A nice chappie but not up to PC standard.
2 O'Malley's FIORDILISO COOL AFFAIR 37fn. 09-01-2001
Ears of good shape,
size and set. Profile far too angular. Muzzle showing severe pinch. Eyes of good shape and set. Body of good type, but needs to
carry more weight. Coat of good length and texture, good colour and sound to the root.
Oriental Ticked Tabby Neuter Male
1 PC & BoB Wooller's
CHELANCA HARVEST MOON 45bs. 11-05-2001
A very self assured and stylish youngster. Excellent
head shape. Ears of excellent size, shape and set with excellent width between. Excellent profile. Excellent eye shape and set,
light green in colour. Excellent lines to wedge. Excellent body type. Tail lacking length and taper with terminal defect.
Excellent coat length and texture. Chocolate ticking of very good colour on the most wonderful clear light silver ground. It is
surprising to find such a clear white silver in a chocolate silver. Absolutely NO evidence of any tarnishing anywhere on face
legs or body. Excellent condition and temperament. A well deserved certificate.
I would also like to make comment on Mr & Mrs Bulmer's Bicolour Ragdoll kitten CHARISMAGIC APHRODITE which I judged in the AV Semi LH Visitors Female Kitten Class. This delightful young female at just over 5 months really impressed me. Excellent head type overall. Ears perfectly set and of desired size and shape. Excellent profile, nose perfectly in proportion. Excellent blue eyes of correct shape and setting. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length, texture and colour. Perfect facial markings. Whilst there is a slight mis-marking on one front leg it does not detract from the overall excellence of this kitten.
