My thanks to Show Managers for inviting me to judge once again at this popular summer show - in a hall which has all the advantages from good access to natural lighting. The 25th Show seemed as good as any - and I think I've only missed 2 or 3 of the 25! It was really good to meet up with Mrs Marjorie Barnes for the annual banter - wonderful to see you again Marjorie, and yet again you got the better of me! My thanks to Mark for stewarding for me.

Norwegian Forest Cat

Adult Male

1 CC & BoB Avill's SNOWSCAPE STARRY KNIGHT. 67/36a. 07/05/00 A most attractive exhibit of overall excellent type. Very good head shape overall. Excellent lines to wedge. Ears of excellent shape and set. Profile could be a little straighter. Excellent eye shape and set - and what a stunning expression. Excellent body type, with excellent strength of rib cage and bone structure. For perfection I would like to see a little more size. Tail a fraction short but showing excellent plume. Coat of excellent texture, and even allowing for summer coat showing good frills on ruff and tummy. Excellent coat and eye coloration. Excellent hard muscular condition. Excellent friendly chap. Certainly a most appealing exhibit and in my books well deserving of CC and BoB.

Neuter Male

1 PC & BoB Exelby's ADMONLO AUJE 67/36f 03/08/00 I see from my catalogue he is from the same sire as the CC winner. Another impressive young chap. Of excellent size and build, with good strong rib cage and excellent bone to legs. Ears of good size and shape. Head just a little broader than I'd like. Excellent eye shape and set. Pleasing profile overall, though it could be just a little straighter. Excellent coat length and texture, with superb tail. This chap had a wonderful temperament and certainly enjoyed the attention.

2 Dale's VOLSUNG PETER PIPER 67/20 16/08/98 Overall rather small for his age. Head far too broad for balance. Ears of good size though set too wide apart. Very good eye shape. Excellent body type, but rather small. Excellent tail. Excellent coat length and texture.

Neuter Female

1 Bishop's PR GALADRIAL ARGENTA 67/31ets 04/06/98 Skull too broad for balance giving the impression of a very short head. Ears lacking sufficient size and rather wide in set. Profile too angular. Eyes very full. Body of very good type, but lacking in size. Coat of very good length and texture.

Oriental Lilac Adult Female

1 CC & BoB Maish's CHIKUAI ZETA 21/08/00 An impressive youngster of very good Oriental type. Head of overall excellence. Ears of excellent shape, size and set. Excellent profile. Green eyes of excellent shape and set with a perfect expression. Excellent Oriental body type. Fine elegant limbs, tail in proportion. Excellent firm condition. Coat of excellent length and texture. Colour rather on the cold side and a little uneven. Well desrving the CC.

Oriental Lilac Kitten

1 & BoB Howsworth's DILWTES EARL GREY 20/01/01 A promising young kitten. Head of excellent shape overall. Ears of very good shape and set. Very good lines to wedge spoiled by the slightest pinch. Excellent strong chin, even bite. Excellent profile. Good firm body of correct Oriental type. Coat just a little long for perfection; colour a little cold and not quite sound.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Kitten

1 & BoB Atkinson/Peacock's SHADOWSQUAD CAINE 38fn 26/12/00 A most attractive kitten with a delightful temperament. Very good Oriental type overall. Ears of very good size, correctly shaped and well set. Excellent profile. Pale green eyes of excellent shape and set. Excellent body type. Excellent length tail with slight thickening at tip. Coat of excellent length and texture. Pattern extending to the roots with minimal agouti invasion, unfortunately showing a high degree of linkage / barring. Excellent clear colour - quite distinctly apricot.

Foreign White Neuter Male

1 PC & BoB Bauerfeind's SHIMIELEETA OLIVERTWIST 21/11/99 A "quality" Foreign White of excellent Oriental type. Ears of excellent shape and set. Excellent even lines to wedge. Excellent profile with firm chin. Stunning blue eyes of excellent size, shape and set. Long firm elegant body of correct type. Slender legs and good whip tail in perfect balance with body. Excellent close lying short coat of correct texture. Very well presented. Excellent temperament and condition. What a beautiful cat!

Oriental Lilac Neuter Female

1 Bailey's AMBERDORE ANUJULI 12/09/97 Ears of fair shape and set. Muzzle a little weak spoiling lines to wedge. Profile far too angular. Eyes fair shape and set, dull grape green in colour. Body far too heavy and cobby in type. Tail lacking sufficient length and taper. Coat rather long, colour uneven.

Oriental Red Neuter Male

1 PC & BoB Hickmore's WESTGARTH WILLSCARLET 01/03/00 An exhibit of outstanding Oriental type - certainly my sort of cat! Excellent head type. Ears of very good size, shape and set. Brilliant green eyes of excellent shape and set. Pleasing profile. Excellent lines to wedge. Excellent firm chin. Long firm body of outstanding Oriental type - nothing coarse or wimpy about this chap! Elegant limbs. Excellent firm condition. Coat of excellent length and texture, sleek glossy and close lying. Excellent rich colouring, with rich colour even to the chin! Unfortunately this quite outstanding chap does have a quite serious fault in that he shows a beautifully formed and clear pattern on the sides which is really too pronounced for a Red Self. I thought for a while before awarding the PC, but felt that his qualities outweighed his pattern! Excellent temperament, and oh dear what a showoff!

Oriental Cream or Apricot Neuter Male

1 PC & BoB Hickmore's WESTGARTH AMERIKAN PIE 37f 17/03/00 Another really attractive chap. Ears large and well set. Excellent lines to wedge. Excellent profile with firm chin and even bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set with a quite delightful expression. Body of excellent length and correct Oriental balance - just a trifle podgy around the tum! Fine balanced limbs, excellent tail length. Coat short and close lying. Good even cream colour though rather hot toned. Excellent condition and temperament.
