LINCOLNSHIRE CAT CLUB

John S Harrison

My thanks to Naomi & Sheena and the Committee for inviting me to judge at this show … though it was a good show somehow it just didn't quite feel quite like a 'Lincoln' despite the familiar faces. As usual my thanks to Mark for stewarding for me

AC Colourpointed/Mitted Ragdoll Neuter Male
1 PC & BoB Huntley's FARMHOUSE JETHRO 66a 01-10-2005
A large well grown lad. Ears of very good size and set. Very food flat skull. Very good profile, though rather long in nose for balance. Eyes of good shape, just a little pale in colour. Cheeks showing good development. Good muzzle shape taking into account nose length. Very good strong body type, showing good length to back. Well boned and solid in construction. Coat of good length and texture. Good points colour, would like coat a little paler for perfection. Well presented. A nice lad worthy of the PC & BoB.

2 Huntley's FARMHOUSE TRELAWNEY 66w 01-10-2005
Litter brother to the above and quite similar in type. Ears very good size and shape. Good top of head, excellent profile spoiled by length of nose which is far too long for balance. Fair cheeks, muzzle maybe a little too pointed in shape. Excellent body type. Excellent coat length and texture. Face colour showing excessive brindling and obvious spectacles. Excellent condition and temperament.

AC Colourpointed/Mitted Ragdoll Neuter Female
1 PC n/a Kenny's WILLOWBECK DAISYCHAIN 66 19-10-2005
A rather stroppy lady who showed her obvious displeasure at being handled!! A well grown female of very good size and substance. Ears appeared to be of correct size and shape, but she held them so low that it was difficult to assess. Eyes good shape and set. Profile seemed to be good. Cheeks well developed and muzzle seemed correct shape but maybe the rolled lip was not advantageous! I decided not to check her bite! Excellent body type. Coat very good length and texture. Something had obviously upset this lady and her neighbour and I was unable to award a PC.

CNH - Potter's CH DOROMAS SEALED WITHAKISS 66w 25-05-2005
Most unusual for this breed, but this lady certainly did not want to come out and play and gave unmistakeable 'Don't come near me mate' signs!!

Cornish Rex Kitten Male
1 & BoB Smith & Wisniewski's INDASIA FLYINGTHEFLAG 33 19 22-02-2007
Head of correct length and balance. Ears of very good size with correct shape and showing rounded tips, correctly set and held well. Excellent muzzle. Correct bite and excellent depth of chin. Good flat skull, correct change of plane at the brow and showing a good straight nose. Eyes of good size and fairly good shape. Body of good type, legs just a little heavy at present but he's a growing boy. Tail of good length and well tapered. Coat short and plushy showing fairly good rexing over the back - I would have liked to see a little more rexing but it was adequate. This delightful lad had the most wonderful set of crinkled whiskers I've seen for some time. Excellent condition and temperament. Well deserving of BoB.

Cornish Rex Kitten Female
1 Boswell's IKURLIKAT DASSIE 33 36a 25-01-2007
Head of fairly good length but far too narrow for correct balance, unfortunately this is accentuated by a very pointed muzzle. Ears of good size and fair shape, set a little low and held rather wide. Profile far too even forming a gentle even curve from back of skull to nose tip. Eyes rather too oriental. Excellent body type. Tall slender legs with very neat paws. Tail long and very well tapered. Very short dense coat of excellent texture and showing very good rexing over body and extending onto upper legs, Excellent condition and temperament.

Oriental Imperial Male
Imp Cert to Holdsworth's UK GR CH WESTGARTH SORCERERS SECRET 37d 29-12-2001
A large strongly built Oriental male of overall excellence, a very masculine exhibit with that 'non-aggressive don't mess with me manner' of so many older stud cats. A head of overall excellence, strong and masculine, showing the jowls one would expect in a mature male. Ears of excellent size, shape and set with excellent top of head. Eyes of excellent shape and set and quite remarkably for a Red a clear bright green colour. Very good profile. Excellent muzzle shape with excellent lines to wedge. Correct bite. Excellent square chin line. Long strong body of excellent type in firm muscular condition. Legs and tail to balance. Handled well. Coat of excellent length and condition. Very good rich red colour, very even and showing minimal tabby markings; so very unusual to find a red with a fully coloured red chin and throat. Very well presented though maybe not helped by the aroma of his very obvious territorial marking! A magnificent older cat of overall excellence and so well deserving of this high award. I have admired this chap in the past and see nothing to change my opinion of him.

Havana Adult
1 CC & BoB Price's KYOMI WILLOW THEWISP 29 27-09-2006
A delightful young lady only just out of kitten classes. Head of excellent overall shape. Ears of good shape size and set with good width between. Excellent lines to wedge. Skull just a little flatter than I like just detracting from an otherwise excellent profile. Eyes of excellent shape and set, lovely clear green in colour, and with that oh so beautiful 'Havana expression'. Excellent body length and type. Dainty limbs and paws. Tail a little thick and lacking sufficient taper. Coat of very good length and texture. A good rich warm brown in colour, unfortunately not quite sound to the roots. I hesitated over awarding the CC in view of her coat, but then I looked at her eyes again and decided she was well worthy of the award. Excellent condition and temperament.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Neuter
1 PC & BoB Nelson's TIDLYPOO JUSTIN TYME 38d 25-02-2006 Ears of good size and shape correctly set. Good top of head and profile. Good chin line. Very good muzzle and lines to wedge. Excellent green eyes of good shape and set. Excellent body type with length and elegance. Excellent long legs, tail fair length and taper. Coat good length and texture. Very good base colour showing distinct red spots though I would have preferred slightly more definition : however he is a red! Dorsal area showing clear broken spine lines. A delightful natured lad who certainly reached the required standard.

Oriental Black Kitten
1 & BoB Caney's MERRYTAIL HOPE 37 26-01-2007 Head of overall good type. Ears of good size and shape and set well. Fair top of head, good profile, good chin line. Eyes of correct set but very full so that she looked rather startled - when she relaxed this was vastly improved. Good green eye colour. Body of excellent length and type, balanced legs and tail. Excellent coat length and texture, dense black colour sound to the skin. A pleasing little lass who was just a bit overawed by the day.

Oriental Bicolour Assessment
No Merit : Lynn's LEGSBY EBONY NIVORY 48 10-02-2007
A very attractive kitten of overall very pleasing type, but unfortunately she did not show the required minimum of one third white to colour. Ears of very good size shape and set. Good even profile. Firm chin and correct bite. Pleasing muzzle and good straight lines to the wedge. Clear green eyes of very good shape and set. Body of excellent type with long slender legs, dainty paws. Tail of good length and taper. Short close lying coat of excellent texture with the black areas being sound to the roots. Such a pity she lacks sufficient white which was the only reason for withholding the merit. A delightful natured little lass.
