BRITISH RAGDOLL CAT CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

4th January 2003

John S Harrison

I was called in at short notice to take over all Mrs Sheila Hamilton classes and some of Alan Edwards' as well. I am pleased I was able to help the Club out once again and I hope exhibitors were not too disappointed when they arrived at the show and were informed of the Judge change.

Overall the quality of exhibits was very high and only one or two were brought along to make up numbers, which if memory serves me correctly was also my comment of the Club's first Exemption Show where I also helped out. My thanks to my good friend Barbara Fellows not only for stewarding for me but also for the excellent company.

AC Bi-Colour Male, Adult.
1, CC Rice's RAGSNRICHES APOLLO 66 31c 11-08-1994
At 8½ this chap merrily purred his way through the day and proved what a delightful nature the breed can have! He did everything possible to ingratiate himself … and succeeded in getting the CC! He is without doubt a little 'over the hill' but he still has a lot to offer. Head of overall excellence and strength. Ears of excellent size and shape with correct set. Excellent top of head. To be critical his stop is rather too deep, but the profile is excellent overall with correct nose length. Excellent eye shape, size and set, colour just a little pale. Very good muzzle. Well defined cheeks. Excellent neck. Excellent body type in perfect balance. A little light in weight and lacking a little in muscletone. Well marked overall, though showing coloured spot to rear legs and small white patch in right ear. Facial markings could be cleaner cut. Coat of good texture, just a little short and a bit tatty in places. Excellent temperament and a real pleasure to judge.

2 Sallow's CH RAGALLEY LADOFPETILLU 66 31a 09-05-2001
Ears of very good shape and size but rather too upright in set. Good top of head. Good profile overall though when the coatr is flattened out the 'stop' is a little too shallow. Muzzle very square and cheeks lacking sufficient definition. Body of overall good type. Coat good length and texture. Facial markings very uneven with too much white under left eye. A nice chap but lacking in maturity

AC Bi-Colour Female, Adult
1 CC & BoB Sprott's CH CHURSTON CAMEO 66 31 28-03-2000
What a little stunner! At under three years she is still a youngster, but absolutely oozing quality and showing so much promise - she really was a most pleasing exhibit. Head of overall excellent type. Ears of excellent size and shape, correctly set with desired tilt. Excellent profile with correct nose length. Excellent top of head with good flat plane. Excellent eye shape & set. Excellent muzzle showing well developed strongly defined cheeks. Head carried on excellent strong neck. Excellent body type, strongly built with correctly balanced legs and tail. Excellent bone structure. Excellent condition & muscletone. Coat of excellent length and texture and in perfect show condition. Showing excellent ruff. Excellent points colour with good clear body colour. Excellent markings overall though facial markings just a little uneven for perfection. Excellent temperament. A really magnificent example of the breed, and though a youngster does show maturity …. What will she look like in another year or so! A delightful exhibit, well deserving the BoB. I was delighted to learn that she later went Best in Show -- my congratulations to her Owners and her Breeders.

2 Williams' CHARISMAGIC GEMMA 66 31 13-03-2002
Barely out of kitten classes this is another youngster of very great promise and overall quality. Head of overall excellent type. Ears of excellent size, shape and set. Excellent profile and top of head. Very good muzzle and well defined cheeks. Eyes of very good size and set, just a little full and I would have like a deeper colour. Excellent body type of good size and weight with surprising maturity for her age. Excellent coat length and texture. Excellent colouring, well marked overall with good clean cut facial markings. Such a pity she had to meet the winner ….. but without doubt her day will come!

3 Lawes' CHICCATS AHJOU ANGELINA 66 31 28-05-1999
A mature female of overall balance and excellence. Ears of very good size, shape and set. Very good top of head. Very good profile overall though bone structure rather straight in nose area and needing slightly more dip. Eyes very good size, shape and set, just a little pale in colour. Very good muzzle. Correct bite. Very good cheeks. Excellent body type. Sturdy legs and balanced tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Well marked overall though white facial markings could be closer to inner corner of eye. Another delightful cat making up a first rate trio.

4 Bulmer's CHARISMAGIC APHRODITE 66 31 22-09-2001
At 16 months old this attractive youngster lacks maturity - but that will come in time! Ears of excellent size, shape and set. Good top of head. Fairly good profile, though the bone structure is rather too straight with insufficient dip to nose. Eyes very good shape and set. Excellent body type just lacking in maturity. Balanced legs & tail. Excellent coat length and texture. Body colour a little dark for age. Well marked overall. Good facial markings. Coloured spot to right front leg. Excellent condition & temperament.

5 Anderson's PURRFORUS DESDEMONA 66 31 14-08-2001
A rather small and fine boned youngster. Ears of fair size and shape set rather high on the head. Deep blue eyes of good set, but rather full. Profile too angular and lacking dip to nose. Muzzle rather fine. Cheeks lacking in definition. Fairly good body type. Coat very short. Well marked.

6 Taylor's ELLANDBEE KARENZA 66 31 38-09-2001
A female of rather fine type and lacking size. Head rather narrow overall. Ears small and high set. Profile shows rounded brow and lacks required scoop. Eyes very full. Fair muzzle and cheeks. Body type too fine. Coat rather short.
